MANILA, Philippines – Canadian pop-punk sensation Avril Lavigne returns to Manila on Feb. 17 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in celebration of the release of her fifth studio album.
Lavigne shot to fame in 2002, at age of 17, with the 6x-Platinum debut album Let Go, followed by 2004’s 3x-Platinum Under My Skin, 2007’s platinum “The Damn Thing, and 2011’s Goodbye Lullaby. Over the course of her four albums,  Avril scored a string of global hit singles including “Complicated”, “Sk8er Boi”, “I’m With You”, “My Happy Ending”,  “Girlfriend”, “When You’re Gone”, “The Best Damn Thing” and more. To date, she’s earned eight Grammy Award nominations, won seven Canadian Juno Awards, and sold more than 30 million albums worldwide.
Released last November 2013, Avril’s self-titled album includes the chart-topping lead single “Here’s To Never Growing Up”, written by Avril with husband Chad Kroeger (frontman of Canadian rock outfit Nickelback), Dave Hodges, J Kash, and producer Martin Johnson (of Boys Like Girls), “Rock N Roll”, and the freshly released “Let Me Go” featuring vocals from Chad Kroeger.
Lavigne is also a successful entrepreneur, with her own fashion and lifestyle brand (Abbey Dawn) and two fragrances (Black Star and Forbidden Rose) under her belt.
An active philanthropist, Avril created the Avril Lavigne Foundation in 2010. The foundation partners with charitable organizations to help youth with disabilities and serious illnesses. $1 from each ticket sale to Avril’s shows are donated to the foundation.

Por tradición, costumbre o gusto, muchas celebridades tienen entre sus actividades la caza (deportiva o de autoconsumo) y el tiro. Las redes sociales han sido el medio para criticarlos. "¿Por qué acaban con Lucero y nadie dice nada de James Hetfield (el vocalista de Metallica)?", pregunta una usuaria de Facebook. El músico gusta de cazar venados, patos, gansos, pavos ocelados, jabalíes, berrendos y en Rusia tiene su destino favorito, incluso tiene como lema: "Cazo y luego existo".
Como él, otras personalidades no ocultan su afición a la caza, entre ellos, Jane Fonda, el rockero Ted Nugent, Eva Longoria, Kurt Russell, Miranda Lambert, Eliza Dushku, Kate Middleton, Rosie Huntington, Tom Selleck y, en México, Guillermo Arriaga.
La cantante Avril Lavigne es una entusiasta cazadora. Cuenta incluso que las peleas con su hermano no eran sólo por la patineta.
"Mi hermano solía decirme: ‘Tú eres una chica y no puedes ir con nosotros de caza', entonces yo le contestaba: ‘Tú eres un idiota' y nos peleábamos por ir de cacería con mi padre", relató a la revista de cazadores, Outdoor Life.

La duquesa Kate Middleton se metió en líos con activistas cuando se informó que había ido de caza con la Familia Real. Fue muy criticada por llevar joyas que resaltaban en su abrigo de camuflaje.
Guillermo Arriaga sostuvo en Twitter una larga discusión justo después de que se dieran a conocer las imágenes de Lucero cazando. Arriaga argumentó que en la caza (por lo menos la que él practica desde niño) hay una profunda vocación conservacionista. "No cazo por placer. No me cansaré de decirlo", escribió.
La cantante Shania Twain recuerda que cazaba por necesidad cuando era más joven. "Me iba cazar conejos para obtener alimento. Me gustaría volver a cazar alces con mi padre para caminar con él", argumentó. Shania Twain es ahora una feliz vegetariana y fue votada por PETA como la vegetariana más sexy con vida.

Avril Lavigne will bring her newest tour to Brazil in May in cities that are still being defined. Information provided by journalist José Norberto Flesch newspaper Destak.

The last time that the singer was in Brazil was in 2011 with "Black Star Tour". The Canadian will now show "Avril Lavigne On Tour" which promotes his latest, self-titled, album.
